I picked it up last Tuesday and it is like a new car perfect on the outside and perfect on the inside - so clean. Unfortunately, I tend to bump into things and have been to Keith several times. “This place and the staff are amazing. I was driving down the highway and a rock was kicked up from a truck and shattered my passenger side door window. I was so startled. I had previously worked with this company when I got into a car accident during a rainy morning and another car spun out at hit me. I read the reviews and chose this place. From begging to end was a great experience and made the process so easy and worry free. Even when I went to the rental place the clerk spoke so highly of the owner. I digress lol. But back to my window, I remembered the awesome service from 2 years ago and called he owner (Keith) to help me and he ordered the part for me right away. When I got to the shop the part was ready and the install took 30 min max. The team was so professional and even vacuumed out my car for me. It was another amazing experience with this company. I hope nothing else goes wrong with my car but if it does I will surely come back to this place for help. The owner (Keith) is amazing. He puts a lot of care into his work (I was overhearing some other customers talk about the work to their cars). But the best part of all: Simba the unofficial mascot . The cutest puppy .”

“Had a great experience here! I needed some large patches of chipped paint above my windshield fixed, and they did a great job. Everyone there is so personable, the price was fair, and they got the work done really quickly (less than two days). I appreciated that the actual cost didn't end up being more than the quote and that they went to the extra effort of cleaning off the top of my car (which was admittedly pretty filthy). Highly recommend!”

They are all certainly nice....The place itself is not really comfortable for sitting, but most people probably don't wait for their cars anyway.

“KNS is the greatest! Keith is honest, professional, kind, and reliable. Not only was his crew's work faultless, but he interacted seamlessly with my insurance company. When I recently lost an altercation with a concrete parking-garage pillar, Keith gave me an immediate estimate. His sister ordered the parts, and as soon as they arrived, I took the car in. KNS completed the repairs in two days and washed and vacuumed the car, as well. In the interim I received calls updating me on the progress.

All of these features are laudable, of course, but the icing on the cake is Simba, Keith's adorable Pomeranian. Simba is a terrific greeter--he loves to be petted, and he enthusiastically retrieves his red rubber bone every time a customer throws it. Playing with him isn't worth running my car into a concrete pillar for, but it's close. :-)”

Keith and his team repaired everything as discussed within just a day, took off the duct tape glue that I thought had stained the outer rim, and even cleaned my car before I got it back. “Fabulous experience! I called with some bumper issues (one too many times pulling into a parking space too close...ugh) and was told to bring my car right in that morning. I dropped it off and was told it would be ready that afternoon -- could it be too good to be true?! Sure enough, it was ready in a matter of hours! I was charged less than $50 to get my bumper tacked back up, which was much less than I was quoted elsewhere (probably more than doing it myself, but I'm hopeless with car repairs!). I can't speak to value/service for bigger body jobs, but was very pleased with my results! Will definitely come back.”

My son and daughter in law referred Keith Newman at KNS body shop to me. I took the vehicle in for estimate which was very reasonable. So reasonable I got estimate for some old damages too.

Keith is very personable. Impeccable customer service skills and very knowledgeable. I made appt. To bring vehicle in for repairs.

WOW was I in for a pleasant surprise!!. When I went to pickup my car it look like a brand new vehicle. He did an excellent job. Everything he promised to do he did it and then some. He even washed my vehicle and clean the insides. I most definitely will use him again. Even if it means I have to drive here from Charlotte NC.

I took my VW Jetta here for a minor ding on the rear a few months ago and they restored the scratches perfectly with paint that matched. It looks completely flawless and you would not be able to tell an accident occurred. Not only did they exceed my expectations on the repair work, but the price was reasonable as well. Not only that but they cleaned the interior of my car and waxed my rims at no additional charge! I went to three other body shops within a 15 mile radius they all returned with quotes that were above what I was willing to pay (out of pocket). She's very nice but disorganized and very forgetful. Keeps you on hold for too long trying to find something simple and doesn't communicate well during the actual repair process. “Keith at KNS really came to the rescue for us. My son at Duke got rear-ended, by fault of the tailgater. The insurance company said it would cost $5,000 to repair, and that his aged car (which still runs like a top) was only worth $$2000, or less. They offered us $2,000 to sign off and go away. No way could we have replaced the car with a 'reliable one' for that price. However, it did have a bent frame, ruined bumper, warped side panel, crushed trunk, etc. After googling a few body shops in the Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill area, I phoned Keith at KNS all the way from New Mexico and told him of my kids situation. He promptly sent a tow truck to Durham, had the car towed in, and repaired it like new, including towing, for $1539.38. My son was back on the road within a few days, car is in great shape, and should see him through his last two years at Duke. Needless to say, we plan to settle with the insurance company for more than enough to pay for the repair. Hooray Keith. Hooray KNS. And we did it all by telephone. “Took a car here after a family member had an accident. Keith at KNS is helpful and reasonable, and we've had good experiences with him in the past. In this case he initially underestimated the repair cost and then discovered more internal damage upon closer inspection. This felt a little sloppy, since it changed our decision about whether to repair it, but overall we still had a good experience dealing with him. Because of the circumstances in our case, he was able to waive storage fees that would have usually applied.”

Some said I would have to wait a day for the service. KNS Automotive did it in about 15 minutes and charged me $35 for service. The staff was also very friendly. “If you are like me, you dread taking your car in for any type of work, including body work. I usually cringe while waiting for the price, which is usually even higher than I'm expecting and the service is subpar. I have an Audi A6 that I wanted to get some body work done, had taken it to another shop in town, and quickly left after the price I was quoted for just a portion of the work. Then, I found out about KNS and read the reviews. I was skeptical, but decided to go for an estimate. I met Keith, who was friendly, honest, and completely different than just about anyone I've met in the car business. I had a number in mind, and Keith blew me away with his quote. I had work to be done on the front and rear bumper, plus some blending on 1 of the quarter panels. Price for all the work was 1/2 of what I was quoted for just the front bumper by another shop. I just picked the car up and the work they did on my car is spectacular. Keith went above and beyond what was quoted, but didn't charge me any extra. It's so rare to meet someone so honest and fair. KNS will be my 'go to' for any future work I need done on any of my vehicles and I couldn't recommend Keith and his business enough. Don't bother with other body shops, head straight to KNS. I can't remember the girls name at the front desk, but she is very friendly and fun to talk to. Everyone there I met treated me great and the turn around was quick!”

“The side of my car was hit while it was parked; this was my first collision (though not my fault), so I was pretty anxious about the process. I took it to KNS automotive due to its fantastic reviews and I'm so glad that I did. They truly earned a 5 star rating. Keith gave me a quick and competitive estimate, described the repair process, helped me correspond with the insurance company, was very flexible with timing, and was very patient and respectful. He finished repairing my car one day early and it seriously looks as good as new (I looked very closely from all angles and I couldn't see any flaws). Keith also guarantees his work for the life of the vehicle, so you know it must be top quality. The final surprise was that they cleaned my car. It was worth driving from Durham to go to KNS Auto Collision. They are absolutely outstanding and I highly recommend them to anyone.”

Mr Newman was able to give me a price for the repairs that was much more reasonable, by only treating the affected areas of the vehicle instead of repainting the whole side, and by re-using perfectly good body moldings instead of using new ones. The service is friendly and they work to do right by the customer. My vehicle now looks new (even under the hood, where they cleaned!) and I wish I had done this a long time ago.”

“I just got my 2007 Yaris back from KNS Collision and I'm ecstatic about the repair and service! My car truly has not looked this good since I drove it off the Toyota lot 3 1/2 years ago. “WOW WOW and WOW!!! I first met Keith about 6 month ago, a neighbor hit my car and I was in need of repair. He gave me an estimate less then half of a 'certified' insurance shop. Granted, the estimate didn't include some of the plastic parts that they were replacing, but in my opinion it wasn't needed. I sold the car as is and didn't get a chance to use his services. However, November came, I was away on business and my wife lost control of the car. The insurance deemed the car as 'totaled'. I didn't have a chance to see the car and was a little nervous, but sent her to Keith so he can take a look at it. He inspected the car and gave a VERY VERY reasonable estimate. Why would insurance total it and Keith said that the car can be fixed? I was skeptical and 500 miles away. My wife ended up going to him a couple of times to confirm his and insurance estimate. He even offered to call the insurance company and tell them that they are full of it (didn't really have to go the extra mile, but offered to do so). We decided to get the car repaired. All I have to do is say WOW!!! I came in the day after the car was repaired, I couldn't believe my eyes. The color matched perfectly (always my biggest fear, I've seen sooo many crappy paint jobs, even by insurance shops), the repairs were excellent, the car looks like new. We are very thankful to Keith and his team. He saved us the car and potentially a lot of money if we were to buy a new car. The car only has 50k miles on it and mechanically in an excellent condition. All those things that insurance company 'warned' about, were looked at and passed by not only Keith, but a mechanic that I've been taking my car to for years. FYI, asked for a windshield quote from Keith, ended up being half price of that given to me by SafeLite. “It's my first time to be here. The experience is awesome. My car was hit several weeks ago and KNS was listed by the insurance company. My wife called several shops but KNS was the only one that had component for repair right at that time. Keith, the boss, is extremely nice. I had a great conversation with him while I was waiting for my car rental company to pick me up. Keith is fun and has a great story of his life. Today, two days later, I got my car back. “To keep the review short, I needed to get my driver's side window fixed because my vehicle was broken in to. I've never dealt with insurance before because I'm still in school and Keith not only took care of all of it for me, but also went above and beyond the repairs needed. On top of the replacing my window, he fixed all the dents and scratches on my car (unrelated to the break in), cleaned my engine, washed the car, vacuumed the inside, polished the dash, and had everything back to me super fast. Keith did a fantastic job: was able to obtain the OEM replacement part for the same price as the aftermarket. Turned it around in 2 days (1 to order the part, 1 to replace the dented part). “My experience with Keith could only have been better had they brought my car to my door and then cooked me dinner. My Jetta was hit from behind and sustained what another body shop said was $2,800 worth of damage, which I thought was fair. Keith said it was closer to $2,100 -- but there may be things he couldn't see until he had the car peeled apart.

I went away for the week -- and got a call from Colleen (Keith's sister, and office manager) telling me the damage was indeed a bit more extensive than they originally thought. The total would run $2,600. Still under the original quote, so no problem.

I came back to my car not only fixed and looking better on the outside than when I bought it, but to an almost unrecognizably clean car on the INSIDE. HIghly, highly recommended.”

“TLDR: I went to two other body shops and got crazy big estimates, I'm assuming they took me for an ass. I went to KNS, got an honest price, and got an awesome result.

I was in a small fender bender and the hood of my car had to be replaced. After getting the car parts in working order I wanted to get the appearance back in order so I asked the car shop for a recommendation. They had someone who worked exclusively for them and his spot in a little shack in Durham. He told me that he would have to buy a completely new hood and paint it before my car would look normal again. He said my price, since I'm a college student, would be 1200 dollars. That's a lot of money for me, so I tried to get a second opinion.

Then I went to Elite Auto Body. When I asked the guy for an estimate, he checked out my car and scribbled down a few notes. Then he started telling me what would need to be done - a new hood, paint, a drop for the paint, new finish, clips to hold the cover in place while they painted, covers for the other parts of the car, masks for the workers while they painted, and on and on for about 15 minutes. His total estimate was 2500.

Then I lucky heard through a Carrboro native that KNS is the place to get car repairs done. I went and checked it out. I was skeptical at first, after two previous estimates I was sure that my repair was going to be at least 1000. They checked out my car. It took two seconds for him to look at the car, tell me it would cost 600 dollars and that it would look like new. No new hood, no run around about bullshit clips and paint masks. I would have my car ready in two days. I picked it up then, and was on my way only having to pay 600. The car looked amazing too.

KNS did amazing work at an honest price. It felt awesome to know that Elite Auto Body wasn't going to coerce me into paying 2500 just to get my hood fixed. KNS is as honest as the day is long, and I won't be going to another spot while I'm in NC. Please please please if you can avoid the shady things other mechanics and body shops are up to and just go to KNS. It's not about tricking you, and in range of body shops that I've seen in and around chapel hill/Carrboro it's really refreshing to see that.”

“I own a 2013 BMW 328i. I scraped my front bumper on a wooden railing and the bumper needed to be repainted. I first went to a fine auto repair shop that I had used many years ago The quote I got seemed very high. Since this repair was coming out of my own pocket, I checked for alternatives and found KNS in Carrboro. I got a significantly lower quote from Keith, the owner of KNS. (He had no knowledge of the original quote). He explained in detail the service they would provide, including complete removal of the bumper and the care they would take in re-assembly. So I decided to give them the business. They did a terrific job, happily taking care of a small issue. I cannot tell the repainted bumper from the original paint job. The car was ready when promised and their staff was customer focused, including providing a ride home a short distance away. They saved me a lot of money and I got a first-class job.”

After getting a full tune up, tires and fluids at my favorite auto mechanic, Chapel Hill Tire, I told them I wanted to have some cosmetic things addressed, explaining this was 'elective' surgery - i.e. no insurance claim. I recently ran over a tire on 40 and it tore off my front left liner and damage my bumper alittle, mainly the paint. I took my car to Kns cause of the reviews. The 1st quote I got was with a paint job and more then I wanted to pay. Since the bumper damage wasn't that bad, I asked if I could just get the bumper fix and ignore the paint job which they were able to do. The job they did was amazing, they were able to buff out the paint damage, replace the liner, and fix the left side light (and also change the bulb on the right side light) in a day. “I managed to bump another driver while trying to make a right turn. Her vehicle was fine and so was she but my Kia's bumper was pushed in and leaking coolant. I got it home fine although the temperature gauge kept going up up up. I found KNS by the usual search engine, reviews...then I perused his website. It was very professional and well written so I gave him a call to set up an estimate. Friendly and knowledgeable, Keith raised the hood and proceeded to look for the damage. The damage was hiding in a less than noticeable spot so he asked permission to take the bumper off to get a proper approximation. After a thorough evaluation, he gave me a fair estimate and I gave him the go ahead. This all occurred on a Friday afternoon. He had the parts ordered for Monday. I had a call from him Wednesday telling me it was all done. When I arrived, he came out and showed me all the work that they had done, down to cleaning the interior, exterior, and engine. He even pointed out how his repair had saved me some money! What I paid was almost exactly what he had prescribed. I would highly recommend them to anyone.”

My wife was driving on I-40 recently and a truck bounced a piece of fencing material out of the back and into the front end of her Prius. “Had a fender bender--pretty major. In fact, I thought it was going to run me at least $1k. All previous body work experience to vehicles I own had been done at dealers. So I was a bit apprehensive taking my car anywhere else, but thought what the heck--let's at least get a couple of local quotes before going to the dealer (in Cary; I live in Chapel Hill). Based on yelp and citysearch ratings, and no BBB flags, I went to KNS in Carrboro. Thankfully I did. Not only was Keith (the owner) and his staff extraordinarily friendly, the estimate they gave me was way less than I expected based on previous repairs. They also fit me right in, and went beyond the call of duty by giving my vehicle a free detail--which they say is customary for all their repair jobs. The finished product was excellent--can't tell that anything happened. Paint job was flawless--for pearl paint even. I was most impressed, and will certainly go with KNS again if I ever need to. “If you are like me, you dread taking your car in for any type of work, including body work. I usually cringe while waiting for the price, which is usually even higher than I'm expecting and the service is subpar. I have an Audi A6 that I wanted to get some body work done, had taken it to another shop in town, and quickly left after the price I was quoted for just a portion of the work. Then, I found out about KNS and read the reviews. I was skeptical, but decided to go for an estimate. I met Keith, who was friendly, honest, and completely different than just about anyone I've met in the car business. I had a number in mind, and Keith blew me away with his quote. I had work to be done on the front and rear bumper, plus some blending on 1 of the quarter panels. Price for all the work was 1/2 of what I was quoted for just the front bumper by another shop.
